Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join the Detection & Response Team. You will build detections, triage alerts, lead investigations, and automate security workflows across enterprise, cloud, and product environments.

In this role, you’ll work on large-scale data platforms, craft threat-hunting initiatives, and shape AI-enabled security tooling with engineers across regions. Strong coding and cloud security experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on security in modern cloud environments.
• Experience in triaging and responding to cyber threats.
• Experience in large-scale log analysis, incident response and/or digital forensics.
• Experience with centralized security data lakes and SIEM solutions.
• Hands-on experience in writing detections-as-code.
• Proficient in SQL and Splunk for data analysis.
• Familiar with data pipelines and engineering techniques.
• Proficiency in Python or Go to automate security tasks.
• Experience with git/GitHub and CI/CD automations.
• Experience with threat actor TTPs and on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Leverage engineering practices to develop, test, and deploy high-fidelity detections-as-code.
• Detect and respond to cyber threats using security data lake, SIEM, and cloud platforms.
• Respond to alerts and drive end-to-end incident investigations.
• Perform digital forensic investigations including evidence collection and analysis.
• Automate and codify detection and response workflows and processes.
• Build security tooling to drive automation across the D&R lifecycle.
• Improve and maintain detection and response pipelines and underlying systems.
• Collaborate with Threat Intelligence to identify and respond to sophisticated threats.
• Develop AI-first security systems to automate detection and response operations.
• Conduct threat hunts across corporate, cloud and product environments.
