Job summary

WaferWire Cloud Technologies in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Senior Security Engineer focusing on security architecture reviews and hands-on assessments across on-premises and Azure environments. You will identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations to strengthen the overall security posture.

The role requires collaboration with IT, DevOps, and enterprise teams, with responsibilities spanning CI/CD integration, IAM guidance, and adherence to industry frameworks.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in network security, including hands-on experience with on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of application security architecture integration with network security.
  • Experience conducting manual and automated network security assessments, scanning and penetration testing.
  • Familiarity with SSDLC and DevSecOps practices.
  • Knowledge of Azure security tools and services: Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups, Security Center/Defender, Key Vault.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive security assessments and penetration tests on on-premises networks and Azure cloud environments, including manual and automated testing of network controls, firewalls, and cloud-native security features.
  • Evaluate network security posture throughout design, implementation, and deployment phases, ensuring alignment with enterprise security standards.
  • Collaborate with application security architects to integrate secure design principles into network infrastructure.
  • Work with IT, DevOps, Application Development, and Enterprise Architecture teams to uncover vulnerabilities and drive remediation.
  • Integrate security controls and automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for network and cloud deployments.
  • Review and enhance network architecture by identifying threats, risks, and compliance gaps specific to Azure services (Azure Firewall, NSGs, Security Center/Defender, Key Vault).
  • Provide guidance on IAM, data protection, and secure connectivity between on-premises and cloud resources.
  • Develop and enforce network security policies and best practices aligned with NIST, CIS Benchmarks, OWASP.
  • Stay current with Azure security enhancements and evolving threat landscapes.
  • Prepare security assessment reports and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in incident response activities related to network or application security events.

Job Summary

We are seeking for an experienced Senior Security Engineer with a strong focus on assessing Security Architecture with hands-on experience in performing security assessments and tests across on-premises and Azure cloud environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive security reviews of the infrastructure, performing manual security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and enhance network architecture by identifying threats, risks, and compliance gaps specific to Azure services (e.g., Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups, Azure Gateway).

Required Qualifications

  • Familiarity with secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) and DevSecOps practices.
  • Knowledge of Azure security tools and services: Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups, Security Center/Defender, Key Vault, etc.
  • Strong communication skills to advise and collaborate with teams across the enterprise.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, CEH, CCSP) are a plus.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field preferred.

Compensation / Salary Range: The typical pay range for this role is: USD $100,000/Yearly - $115,000/Yearly. Factors that may affect pay within or outside of this range may include but not limited to geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
