Job summary

Invicti Security is seeking a hands-on offensive security researcher to transform vulnerability knowledge into production-ready detection content. You will own security checks, write accurate rules, and maintain low false positives within the Invicti platform.

Responsibilities include building detection rules, researching attack patterns, extending language support, and collaborating with engineering, product, AI/ML, and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of offensive security or application security research experience.
• Broad knowledge of programming languages — JavaScript is a must, Python is a huge plus.
• Strong understanding of vulnerability classifications and exploitation techniques.
• Web app pentesting experience covering OWASP Top 10 and adjacent classes.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and modern DevOps pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain security checks and detection content within the Invicti platform.
• Create new detection rules (OpenGrep) to catch novel malware patterns.
• Research vulnerability classes and translate findings into production-ready detections.
• Extend support for new programming languages across the analysis pipeline.
• Triaging pipeline outputs and validating findings.
• Build attack chain templates combining findings into higher-impact scenarios.
• Contribute to evaluation harnesses and benchmarks for detection effectiveness.
• Develop testing frameworks for validation, reproducibility, and regression coverage.
• Collaborate across teams to ship and operate detection content.
• Stay current on AppSec, AI security, LLM vulnerabilities, and MCP ecosystems.
