Job summary

ZipStaff Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Automation Engineer to design and implement security automation for a major healthcare organization. You will automate Akamai origin lockdown, WAF, TLS, and certificate lifecycle using Terraform, APIs, and CI/CD in a remote U.S.

environment. You will build reusable automation, integrate controls across Akamai, F5, Palo Alto, and cloud platforms, and own end-to-end deployment, monitoring, and incident analysis. HOA hours are EST/CST; U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in application security, Secure SDLC, web/API security, WAF and edge security.
• 5+ years Terraform, IaC, security-as-code, CI/CD and automated testing.
• 5+ years Python and Java or Go, with REST API development.
• 4+ years GCP, Kubernetes, GKE, container security, and production support.
• 4+ years cloud and enterprise networking, DNS, load balancing, firewalls and proxies.
• 3+ years secrets management and certificate lifecycle automation.
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card; EST/CST hours; work authorization in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation for Akamai origin lockdown, perimeter modernization, and security platforms.
• Build Terraform for security configuration, policy enforcement, and provisioning.
• Develop reusable frameworks, APIs, and services in Python, Java, or Go.
• Integrate controls across Akamai, F5, Palo Alto, DNS, cloud, and platform teams.
• Automate deployment and lifecycle of WAF, origin lockdown, TLS, certificates, and secrets.
• Create CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions for Secure SDLC and policy validation.
• Support secure solutions on GCP, Kubernetes, and GKE.
• Own design, code review, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting and RCA.
• Mentor others and drive adoption of reusable automation.
