Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Arlington, VA is building a security automation platform that protects Amazon's sensitive corporate systems. You will design and own end-to-end security architectures with autonomy over technology choices.

You will lead multiple concurrent design efforts, mentor engineers, and drive security strategy across detection pipelines, alerting platforms, and developer tooling. This is hands-on engineering with ownership, not consulting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non‑internship software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate security automation systems on AWS that protect corporate applications processing sensitive data.
• Own the architecture of detection pipelines, alerting platforms, and custom rule engines with a technology-first approach.
• Build integrations with application security teams to enable continuous automated scanning.
• Lead technical design across multiple efforts, review work for architectural coherence and production readiness.
• Write and operationalize detection rules that surface issues during code review.
• Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and communicate technical strategy to leadership.
