Job summary

Avint, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Assessment Lead to oversee a team of cybersecurity professionals conducting security control assessments across organizational systems. The role combines hands-on assessment work with leadership responsibilities to ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and government requirements.

The position includes management of SAPs, SARs, and related deliverables, while mentoring junior teammates and serving as a trusted advisor to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Proven experience in planning and executing security control assessments (A&A).
• Ability to document findings clearly with supporting evidence and risk implications.
• Experience coordinating with ISSOs/ISSMs, system owners, and government personnel.

Responsibilities

• Serves as primary contractor lead and SME for Security Control Assessment activities.
• Provide technical direction and oversight to assessors and contractor staff.
• Lead SAP development, testing methodologies, and ROE definitions.
• Review documentation, evidence, and determine control effectiveness.
• Lead SAR preparation and delivery, including risk summaries and executive briefings.
• Oversee scheduling, milestones, and resource assignments for assessments.
• Coach junior staff and support professional development.
