Job summary

Iridium Satellite LLC is seeking a Principal Security Design Engineer to lead security architecture and adversarial testing for a new service. You will influence early design decisions, guide red team activities, and serve as a tier 2 SME in partner conversations.

The role requires deep expertise in cloud security, identity flows (SAML/OIDC/OAuth2/WebAuthn), and a collaborative approach with engineering and product teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in network and information security, with offensive/adversarial focus.
• Strong AWS security fundamentals (IAM, VPC, misconfigurations).
• Solid understanding of modern identity protocols: SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, WebAuthn, CTAP.
• Ability to communicate security risk to engineers and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience as an individual contributor in a high‑ambiguity, small team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform threat modeling and security architecture reviews for cloud and device ecosystems.
• Lead red team style assessments across network, application and cloud configurations.
• Mentor engineers and shape early security practices for a pre‑launch product team.
• Serve as a tier 2 security SME in partner/customer conversations.
