Job summary

Iridium is seeking a Principal Security Engineer to join at the earliest stage of a security‑critical service. You will bring adversarial and architectural expertise, identify attack paths, and guide how we defend the system from design through deployment.

You will serve as a tier‑2 security SME in partner conversations, mentor engineers, and establish threat modelling, lightweight security practices, and secure development habits across a small, fast‑moving team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in network and information security.
• Strong AWS security fundamentals knowledge.
• Deep understanding of SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, WebAuthn, CTAP.
• Ability to communicate risk to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in small, high-trust teams in ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Analyze AWS-based cloud infra, APIs, and supporting services to identify attack paths and defensive priorities.
• Advise engineering leadership on secure design decisions across cloud infrastructure, application logic, and device/key-management touchpoints early in the development lifecycle.
• Lead red-team style assessments spanning network, application, cloud configuration, identity flows, and adjacent supply-chain vectors.
• Mentor engineers and help establish threat-modeling culture in a pre-launch environment.
