Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Principal Security Engineer to define security architecture across on-prem, Azure, and cloud environments. You will embed security into delivery pipelines and guide teams to build secure, resilient solutions for hybrid infrastructures.

The role requires leadership in cloud/security domains, threat modeling, and incident response, with a focus on least-privilege and zero trust. Hybrid in-office schedule with core locations including Quincy, MA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of work experience.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity with leadership in security engineering and architecture.
• Proven enterprise security architecture for cloud platforms and hybrid/on-prem environments.
• Deep expertise in identity and access management, key/secrets management, and zero trust.
• Strong IaC, config management, and policy-as-code.
• Experience with SIEM/EDR and detection engineering.
• Proficient scripting for automations (Python/PowerShell).
• Excellent communication and executive influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Set enterprise security architecture and guardrails for cloud, network, platform, and application domains.
• Design scalable, secure-by-default blueprints used across teams.
• Drive security-as-code in CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native workflows.
• Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and security design reviews.
• Standardize vulnerability management and prioritize remediation by risk.
• Integrate IAM, secrets management, and least-privilege across architectures.
• Guide monitoring, logging, and detection engineering to reduce MTTD/MTTR.
• Mentor engineers and elevate secure coding practices across teams.
