Job summary

INTER-OP is seeking a Security Architect to support the Department of State in the Foreign Affairs Business Unit. The role requires deep expertise in security engineering, risk assessment, and policy formulation to secure information, infrastructure, and users across cloud and on-prem environments.

Responsibilities include leading security design reviews, managing RBAC and policy creation, and ensuring compliance with NIST RMF, FISMA, and DoD guidance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in security engineering or security operations, including at least 1 year working on VMware solutions.
  • Must have an active clearance (Secret or Top Secret).
  • Preferred Certifications: CISSP, CCISSP, CEH, CISM, CISA, Cloud+, CCSP.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in system development and implementation through agile sprints to develop and deploy advanced cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Administer security tools and rule configurations; update and adjust them for new releases.
  • Provide cybersecurity engineering and consulting to assist in onboarding customers to the platform.
  • Perform security impact and risk assessment of changes proposed to these systems.
  • Monitor platform level network changes, analyze impact, and provide appropriate technical solutions to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Assist with other security service offerings and projects as needed.
  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure security; ability to recommend best practices and assess current posture.
  • Knowledge of API Security, Container Security, Cloud Security and related controls.
  • Create, verify security policies and RBAC roles; create/maintain/report security documentation.
  • Familiar with ATO and FedRAMP; understand monitoring capabilities for stakeholders.
