Job description

The Hamilton County Health Department has a responsibility to respond quickly and efficiently during public health emergencies. All employees must keep their contact information current and be accessible for emergency mobilization. The department maintains a call-down system to store contact information and mobilize staff when needed. During emergencies, work hours may be modified to meet community needs.

Under close supervision, performs advanced secretarial duties such as managing special projects, providing administrative support to a Director or designated office group, coordinating office activities, gathering data, reporting, and supervising others.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, essential functions may include the following tasks, physical requirements, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics. This list is illustrative only and not comprehensive.

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus three (3) years of secretarial experience.
  • Typing speed of 45 words per minute.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work involves minimal physical effort, with intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. Extensive computer keyboarding is required, with occasional lifting up to ten (10) lbs.
