Job summary

Island is building a secure, scalable enterprise platform with a focus on AI enablement, data protection, and identity management. We seek a Senior Security Operations Engineer to own incident response, cloud security posture, vulnerability management, and FedRAMP compliance across commercial and GovCloud environments.

You will partner with the global SecOps Lead to drive day-to-day execution and long-term improvements, leading US incident response and ensuring robust security controls for our

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in security operations with hands-on depth in at least two areas (incident response, cloud security posture, or vulnerability management).
• Strong incident responder capable of leading triage, containment, and post-mortems under pressure.
• Solid AWS knowledge (IAM, EC2, EKS, S3, CloudTrail, GuardDuty); GCP/Azure experience a plus; CSPM experience with Wiz.

Responsibilities

• Lead US-timezone incident response, including triage, containment, investigation, and post-incident reviews.
• Manage and improve cloud security posture across AWS, GCP, and Azure; remediate Wiz findings and misconfigurations.
• Own vulnerability management across web, infrastructure, and containers; track remediation and report.
• Drive FedRAMP continuous monitoring for GovCloud; gather evidence and support audits per NIST 800-53.
• Partner with global SecOps Lead on strategy, tooling, risk, and security improvements.
