Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. seeks a Sr. Software Development Manager to lead EC2 instance networking initiatives in Seattle or San Diego.

You will own the technical and product vision for a foundational AWS infrastructure layer, hire and grow managers and engineers, and drive cross-team collaboration to deliver scalable networking features such as ENA and VPC security groups. Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical and product vision for a foundational layer of AWS infrastructure.
• Partner with leaders and executives across the company to set priorities, and drive direction across organizational boundaries.
• Hire, grow, and lead a team of Software Development Managers and engineers; mentor and coach them toward their next level.
• Build a team culture people want to be part of and take career growth seriously.
• Own the operational health of your team's security, availability, and performance.
• Run a development process that ships meaningful improvements to customers continuously.
• Set the engineering bar: design, implementation, testing, version control, documentation, deployment, monitoring, and operations.
