Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle (WA) or San Diego (CA) is seeking a Sr. Software Development Manager to lead multiple teams focused on EC2 instance networking, ENA, and Nitro integration. You will own technical strategy and work with executives across AWS.

You will hire, mentor, and grow managers and engineers, ensuring security, availability, and performance while delivering continuous improvements at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical and product vision for a foundational layer of AWS infrastructure.
• Partner with leaders and executives across the company to understand diverse requirements, set priorities, and drive direction across organizational boundaries.
• Hire, grow, and lead a team of Software Development Managers and engineers; mentor and coach them toward their next level.
• Build a team culture people want to be part of and take career growth seriously.
• Own the operational health of your team's security, availability, and performance.
• Run a development process that ships meaningful improvements to customers continuously.
• Set the engineering bar: design, implementation, testing, version control, documentation, deployment, monitoring, and operations.
