Job summary

Okta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test to certify weekly releases in a restricted environment. You will own test planning, development, and validation across server and client components, maintaining automation and end-to-end test coverage, within a mission-critical SaaS platform.

The role requires active high clearance, 4+ years in QA, and experience with Java-based automation in a complex tech stack, ensuring uptime and reliability for major deployments.

Qualifications

• Active security clearance is required.
• 4+ years of software QA in SaaS environments.
• Experience with end-to-end/system testing and validation.
• Ability to understand, debug, and maintain automation code (Java-based).
• Experience in restricted, mission-critical software environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements with Development and Engineering Leads for test planning and scope.
• Participate in a scrum team environment.
• Manage deliverables with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with Release and Development teams to ensure high availability and scalable infrastructure.
• Understand customer usage patterns to define critical test coverage.
• Review changes entering test and staging environments and ensure compatibility with deployments.
• Develop and maintain end-to-end/system test plans and test automation for weekly releases.
• Set up and maintain test configurations and lab environments for end-to-end testing.
• Prioritize critical customer usage patterns for every weekly release in test environments.
• Support QA efforts across software deployment and release teams as a technical quality authority.
