Okta is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, SDET for the Identity Governance team (OIG). You will own the quality strategy and lead 10+ SDET teams across Canada, the US, and India to test governance at enterprise scale.

You’ll shape long-running certification campaigns, audit-ready entitlements, and integration tests across APIs, UI, and data layers. You will mentor engineers, drive automation, and partner with engineering and product to maintain high release quality while managing multiple

Qualifications

• 10+ years in quality or test engineering, or software engineering with a quality focus, shipping enterprise cloud software.
• 4+ years managing engineers, distributed teams and more than one workstream at a time.
• Owning quality strategy for a product area, not just executing test plans.
• Hands-on depth in test automation at scale: Java, Python, or TypeScript, plus API (REST, gRPC) and UI automation (Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent).
• Experience with CI/CD, containers, and a major cloud platform.
• Experience testing multi-tenant SaaS, including asynchronous, event-driven systems and data reconciliation between systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the quality strategy for OIG — test approach, coverage model, automation architecture, environments, and release readiness.
• Lead, grow, and retain a distributed team of quality engineers and SDETs; drive recruiting as hiring manager.
• Coach engineers with timely, actionable feedback and delegate without bottlenecks.
• Drive automation strategy across API, integration, and UI layers for deterministic CI/CD gates.
• Own the quality signal and use it to drive release decisions.
• Lead scale and data-integrity testing for large-tenant campaigns and high-volume imports.
• Embed quality engineers into architecture and design reviews to shape product quality early.
• Track team investments and keep the team healthy and productive.
