Job summary

Staffing Spot, Inc. is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust test automation across web, API, mobile, and backend apps.

You will build automated UI and API tests using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and REST Assured, while integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and mentoring junior engineers. The role requires 7+ years in QA automation, strong programming skills (Java/Python/JavaScript/TypeScript/C#), and deep experience with SQL, Agile, and modern

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software testing, QA automation, or SDET roles.
• Strong programming experience in at least one language such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Strong API testing and automation experience.
• Ability to design and develop automation frameworks from scratch or enhance existing ones.
• Solid understanding of OOP, data structures, and core programming fundamentals.
• Experience with Git and source-control best practices.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
• Good knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA processes.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks for web, API, mobile, and backend apps.
• Create and maintain UI automation using Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Develop API automation using REST Assured, Postman, or equivalent.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Design test strategies, plans, and automation approaches for complex apps.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Identify, troubleshoot, and root-cause automation failures.
• Collaborate with developers to improve testability and code quality.
• Perform database validation using SQL and related tools.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on automation/test architecture.
• Implement test reporting, logging, screenshots, and failure diagnostics.
• Mentor junior QA/SDET engineers and promote automation best practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate across teams to ensure quality.
