Job summary

Amazon seeks a Sr SDE for the SFSC Engineering team to own end-to-end architecture, design, implementation, and operational excellence across Salesforce deployments on AWS. You will lead complex initiatives, mentor peers, and drive reliable, scalable systems that power Amazon’s Salesforce fleet.

You will influence technical direction and collaborate with security and other engineering teams to deliver high-availability solutions while maintaining strong customer focus and blameless postmortems

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end design, development, test, and implementation of complex problems including planning, risk, and trade-offs.
  • Collaborate with engineers, service and security teams to deliver complex features.
  • Guide and ensure quality of architectural decisions across products and teams.
  • Help establish long-term success strategy for team-owned systems, development best practices, and operational excellence.

Job description

Salesforce Success Central (SFSC) Engineering team builds and operates services and infrastructure that improve the return on investment in Amazon's enterprise-wide Salesforce deployments.

We are a tight-knit team of builders who own systems end-to-end: from real-time log ingestion and security monitoring, to fine-grained access control, to the next generation of AI-powered agentic security tooling.

As a Sr SDE on SFSC Engineering, you will own complex, ambiguous problems end-to-end: from architecture and design through implementation, deployment, and operational excellence. You will mentor engineers, influence technical direction across teams, and build systems that operate at scale with high availability.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience with AWS Services including EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following domains: access-control system and methodology, network security, application- and system-development security, security architecture and models, cryptography, and operations security
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
