Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Kinesis Data Streams team in Seattle. You will define architecture, lead implementation, and collaborate with product managers to deliver high-quality services in a fast-growing cloud environment.

You’ll interact with engineers and enterprise customers to ensure needs are met, participate in code reviews, and contribute to scalable, reliable streaming solutions using AWS technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• You solve difficult problems, applying appropriate technologies and best practices.
• You work with your team to invent, design and build software that is stable and performant.
• You are proficient in a broad range of design approaches and know when it is appropriate to use them.
• You ensure code is understandable by someone unfamiliar with the system.
• You minimize incidental complexity and avoid unnecessary short-term workarounds.
• You create flexible software without over-engineering and reuse where possible.
• You are efficient with resources (hardware, database, memory, CPU).
• You collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and peers on project ideas.
