Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Senior Scrum Master to guide multiple teams through SAFe practices and agile transformation. You will coach, mentor, and facilitate events, ensuring value delivery, quality, and collaboration across Product Owners, stakeholders, and the Program Team.

You will help remove impediments, drive continuous improvement, and use metrics to improve predictability. The role includes remote work with occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings, and a strong focus

Job description

Become a part of our caring community The Senior Scrum Master facilitates and aligns across one or more teams including Product Owners, stakeholders, other Scrum Masters and the Program Team to iteratively and incrementally deliver value. Acts as a catalyst for change by making the evolving processes work for the entire team. Acts as the servant leader for aligned team(s) by creating an environment that empowers and energizes team members, with a focus on accountability, adaptability, collaboration, and high-performance. Shares learnings with a community of like-minded Scrum Masters to accelerate Humana's agile transformation. Drives the implementation of various frameworks in order to focus on value, flow, quality, predictability, modern engineering practices, and driving continuous improvement of assigned team(s). The Senior Scrum Master performs moderately complex to complex work necessitating independent initiative, judgement as well as a need to react quickly and adapt to changing department or team needs. Guide the Scrum Team on how to use Scrum and SAFe practices and patterns to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers. Navigate easily through different coaching stances deliberately (coaching, mentoring, teaching, facilitating) while growing the agile skills and mindset of team members. Create an environment that empowers and energizes team members, with a focus on accountability, adaptability, and collaboration. Foster team collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement to support effective delivery and business outcomes. Facilitate and support all Scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective. Supports PI Planning, System Demos and Inspect and Adapt sessions. Mentor the Product Owner(s) in user story creation, prioritization and Product Backlog refinement ensuring the team focuses on technical needs, including improvements to testing and deployment processes. Facilitate team productivity by removing impediments that may obstruct the pursuit of the team's goals and by preserving flexibility and ability to rapidly respond to changes. Make work visible to ensure impediments are removed and progress is viewable and continuous. Utilize and correlate data and team metrics to demonstrate team capacity, predictability and maturity. Help teams navigate through organizational change leveraging change management frameworks such as Kotter's Leading Change and PROSCI ADKAR. Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to contribute to the improvement of Agile practices within the organization, including sharing through Communities of Practice. Influences departmental outcomes by navigating moderately complex challenges and applying organizational policies, practices, and data-informed decision-making. Works independently determining methods and approach to work. Determines priorities and timelines for own work. Use your skills to make an impact

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of related experience in an Agile environment
  • 3+ years of Scrum Master experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with agile methodologies on large scale, technically complex projects.
  • Thorough understanding of agile methodologies, values, practices and patterns.
  • Proven experience coaching and mentoring others.
  • Proven ability to facilitate the removal of impediments.
  • Advanced facilitation, presentation, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Thrives in a VUCA environment (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous)
  • Validated agile learning/credentials such as CSM, A-CSM, SA, PSM, IC Agile such as ACC (IC-Agile, IC-Agile ATF (Agile Team Facilitator).
  • Experience with Agile Tracking tools (agile lifecycle management tools) such as ADO, Jira, VersionOne (Digital.ai), Rally
Preferred Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, Information Technology or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience leveraging data and team metrics to assess and improve team capacity, predictability, and Agile maturity.
  • Experience with Lean and implementing a process improvement mindset.
  • Experience with Portfolio tools such as Service Now, Jira Align, PlanView/Leankit
  • Agile coaching experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Scaled Agile (SAFe) certification(s): Scrum Master or Advanced Scrum Master
  • Experience with testing practices (Gherkin) and DevOps.
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops as a product backlog tool.
  • Experience supporting Agile teams delivering cloud-based initiatives, platforms, or infrastructure solutions, including collaboration with cloud engineering, platform engineering, and DevOps teams.
Work at Home Requirements:

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel:

While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $97,900 - $133,500 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
