Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Sr. Scientist in New Jersey to lead hands-on synthesis and development of new products and applications. You will execute laboratory experiments, design procedures, and plan projects under Avantor processes.

The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. with 1–2 years post-doctoral experience, has hands-on experience with organic and polymer synthesis, GLP guidelines, instrument operation, and thorough documentation of protocols and analytical results.

Qualifications

• Ph.D degree with 1-2 years of post‑doc work experience is required.
• Hands‑on execution of chemical laboratory experiments is required.
• Experience conducting experimental work following GLP principles is required.
• Experience managing laboratory equipment is required.
• Experience lab work & process development for chemical products/polymers is required.
• Preparing experimental protocols, SOPs and analytical testing is required.
• Experience planning and performing laboratory experiments is required; ability to analyze, summarize and report results.

Responsibilities

• Execute laboratory experiments for materials synthesis/purification and downstream processes.
• Develop and optimize procedures for new product/applications.
• Prepare experimental protocols, SOPs and analytic test methods.
• Analyze, summarize and report results to scientific meetings and projects.
• Maintain instrument operation and troubleshooting per SOPs.
