Ashland Specialty Ingredients, GP is seeking a Synthetic Organic/Polymer Chemist to join the Applied Research Team in Global R&D. The role reports to the Group Leader and is located in Bridgewater, NJ, with responsibility to design synthesis strategies and support product development for global markets.

The ideal candidate holds a chemistry degree, demonstrates strong lab skills, and can work across global customers, labs, and manufacturing sites, delivering technical results and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry.
• Understanding of chemical principles, good lab skills.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative cross-functional environment.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Creativity and initiative.
• United States citizenship or permanent resident status.

Responsibilities

• Design, initiate and execute synthetic strategies for new product development.
• Collaborate with applications and marketing to advance products and solve technical problems.
• Scale-up new products with process and production engineers.
• Summarize and interpret analytical data and report results.
• Maintain lab notebooks and comply with safety and procedures.
