Job summary

AtlasBase is seeking a Sr. Scientist, Protein Engineering to lead engineering campaigns that boost activity, stability, and manufacturability of core enzymes.

You will design libraries, run high-throughput screening, and guide formulations from bench work to data-driven decision making. You will own projects end-to-end, collaborate across molecular biology, protein production, analytical, and computational teams, and contribute to SOPs as workflows mature.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years, Master’s degree with 7+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of relevant industry or research experience.
• Experience in protein engineering and library design, high-throughput screening, and formulation development.
• Strong GMP/quality documentation and ability to communicate complex data clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead protein engineering campaigns to improve enzyme activity, stability, and manufacturability.
• Develop and optimize mutagenesis libraries and screening workflows.
• Express and purify proteins using chromatography techniques and assess purity and quality.
• Analyze screening data to guide iterative design cycles and communicate findings.
