Job summary

Metaphore Biotechnologies is seeking a Sr. Scientist to lead protein expression, purification, and analytical characterization to support platform development and therapeutic discovery programs.

Qualifications

• PhD or BS/MS with 5+ years of industry experience in protein biochemistry.
• Experience producing milligram to gram quantities on a recurring weekly basis.
• Hands-on mammalian cell culture and transient transfection.
• Experience with protein purification and analytical systems (UHPLC, FPLC).

Responsibilities

• Design and execute workflows for recombinant protein production (transient mammalian expression, purification, quality assessment).
• Contribute to design, execution, and troubleshooting to improve throughput and data quality.
• Collaborate with Antibody Discovery, Antibody Engineering, Computational Biology and cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior team members and serve as subject-matter expert in recombinant production and stability metrics.
• Maintain robust documentation practices and reproducible workflows.
• Prepare study reports and present results to internal stakeholders.
• Support lab operations improvements and adopt new methods and tools as needed.
