Job summary

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Biochemical Engineering with 4+ years experience for Senior or 6+ years for Principal.

• Strong understanding of protein structure, aggregation, and higher-order structure analysis.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.
• Proficient in scientific software and data analysis tools.

• Experience with fermentation development for protein expression and downstream operations (chromatography, TFF, refold, conjugation) is a plus.

Position Summary: KBI Biopharma is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Level Analytical Scientist to join our Analytical and Formulation Sciences (AFS) team in Boulder, CO. This role is ideal for a PhD-level scientist with deep expertise in protein analytics by LC-MS. You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), driving innovation and excellence in analytical testing by mass spectrometry to support integrated client programs from early development through commercialization. This position collaborates cross-functionally with process development, characterization, and regulatory teams.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of the Process Development functional area with aptitude in fermentation development for protein expression and downstream (purification) operations (chromatography, TFF, refold, conjugation) a plus.

Salary: Senior Scientist: $118,000-$148,000 Principal Scientist: $133,000-$167,000
