Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking a Senior Scientist in Boston to lead neuroscience biomarker discovery. You will design targeted perturbation studies using hiPSC-derived systems, map causal biomarker responses, and employ multi-omics to link disease biology with drug action.

Qualifications

Master's or PhD with hands-on relevant experience.
Hands-on expertise in human in-vitro model systems for neurodegeneration models.
Experience with multiomics approaches (proteomics, imaging, metabolomics, RNA sequencing) and linking biology to biomarkers.

Responsibilities

Design and execute targeted perturbation studies using human in-vitro systems and collaborate on in-vivo preclinical models to map the causal cascade from target engagement to biomarker responses.
Employ multi-omics approaches (proteomics, metabolomics, single-cell RNA sequencing) with pharmacological interventions to link disease states, drug action, and biomarker modulation.
Generate robust mechanistic data packages informing and prioritizing biomarker panels for early-stage trials.
Establish disease models to interrogate target biology and downstream biomarker responses in CNS tissues and biofluids.
Collaborate with bench biologists, disease experts, AI/ML scientists, and clinical colleagues in an agile environment.
Deliver clear, well-structured presentations communicating findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
