Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Principal Scientist, Animal Genetic Engineering – Antibody Discovery, to base in Cambridge, MA or Spring House, PA. The role designs and engineers mouse models to advance antibody discovery, partnering with CROs for genome editing and validating models within our discovery platform.

The candidate will lead in vivo B cell biology work, pursue innovative genetic strategies, and collaborate across teams to optimize immunogen design, immunization, and developability

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline with post-graduate experience.
• Strong expertise in B cell biology and germinal center responses.
• Hands-on mouse genetic engineering, including CRISPR/Cas9, transgenesis, and colony management.
• Experience with in vivo antibody discovery workflows and challenging targets.

Responsibilities

• Lead genetic engineering of mouse models to enhance antibody discovery outcomes.
• Manage CRO partnerships for animal engineering work and ensure quality and timelines.
• Design studies to validate engineered animals within antibody discovery workflows.
• Stay at the forefront of genome-engineering and B cell biology technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align model design with discovery needs.
