Job summary

Neurocrine Biosciences in San Diego, CA seeks a Senior Scientist to advance biologics characterization within analytical development. You will design, develop, and execute MS-based assays for native and top-down analyses, delivering robust data to inform decision-making across preclinical to early development.

Qualifications

• PhD/MS/BS in chemistry or related field with pharma experience per degree level.
• Expert knowledge in protein analytical method development for identification and quantitation.
• Native MS, top-down MS, intact/subunit MS, glycan profiling and bottom-up MS expertise.
• Experience with large molecule separation methods (HPLC, SEC, CE-SDS).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement MS methods across modalities and stages with native/top-down emphasis.
• Lead large molecule analytical assays including identity testing and PTM analysis.
• Provide characterization for discovery programs and active engineering efforts.
• Support production via high-throughput intact mass analysis for cell-line selection.
• Perform LC-MS data, draft reports, and document experiments in ELN; collaborate with teams.
• Maintain HPLC and MS systems; prepare mobile phases and calibration procedures.
