AbbVie in Irvine, California, seeks a highly motivated Senior Scientist I to join the Drug Delivery Sciences and Engineering team. In this laboratory-based role, you will independently design and execute studies to develop and characterize innovative drug delivery systems for small molecules and biologics.

You will apply chemistry, formulation, polymer and protein science while partnering across discovery and development to advance programs. The ideal candidate brings a Ph.D.

• Independent design of experiments and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on pharmaceutical formulation and analytical characterization.
• Strong written and verbal communication for multidisciplinary audiences.
• Cross-functional collaboration across discovery and development.

Responsabilités

• Design, execute, analyze, and document studies on drug delivery systems.
• Develop and optimize delivery for small molecules and biologics.
• Apply formulation, protein, polymer, and colloid science to address stability and performance.
• Characterize formulations using analytical and biophysical methods (e.g., HPLC, DSC, FTIR).
• Interpret data, identify risks, and propose experimental strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external labs to meet objectives.
