Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in San Diego, CA is seeking a Scientist in Pharmaceutics/Preformulation to apply drug delivery concepts and design formulations for small molecules in preclinical studies.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to advance preformulation strategies, model physicochemical properties, and leverage AI-enabled approaches to accelerate discovery.

Qualifications

• Experience in preformulation and interpretation of lab data for discovery
• Knowledge of enabling formulations for poorly soluble compounds
• Experience with data analysis and literature mining is a plus

Responsibilities

• Conduct preformulation studies to define physicochemical properties relevant to drug delivery
• Provide input to screening of new chemical entities and enable lead optimization to candidate identification
• Design enabling formulations (amorphous solid dispersions, lipid-based formulations) for PK and toxicology studies
• Propose in vitro methodologies to evaluate formulation performance
• Apply AI-enabled approaches to support better decision making in discovery pharmaceutics
• Contribute to strategic direction and collaboration with discovery teams
• Develop modeling expertise to understand how properties influence biopharmaceutical performance
