Job summary

Charles River Analytics, a GRVTY company, is seeking a Senior Scientist specializing in Human-Computer Interaction to lead research in Human-Systems Integration and user-centered design for demanding environments.

You will manage teams of researchers, designers, and engineers, shape technical work, and build strong customer relationships. Onsite 3 days per week in Cambridge, MA with flexible remote work and DoD-related contract experience preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Systems Engineering, Interaction Design, or Cognitive Science (or a related field).
• Proven record of capturing and leading research and development contracts or grants as a PI, Technical Lead, Chief Engineer, or PM.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience analyzing work environments and conceiving, demonstrating, and evaluating user interfaces.
• Strong written and verbal skills with proposal writing, customer interaction, and conference presentation experience; DoD pursuits preferred.
• Onsite at least 3 days per week (60% onsite / 40% remote) in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow teams of researchers, designers, and engineers to understand work domains and user-support requirements.
• Develop new human-AI interaction concepts and evaluate interactive prototypes.
• Define, propose, and direct technical work with strong customer, sponsor, and partner relationships.
• Provide Human Systems expertise and collaborate across disciplines to pursue new research opportunities.
• Contribute to proposals, technical reports, and research publications; present work at briefings and conferences.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of others to implement and evaluate solution concepts in a user-centered design process.
