Job summary

Geotechnical and Environmental Consultants (GEC) seeks a growth‑oriented Senior Scientist/Geologist with 5–10+ years of office and field experience. The candidate will focus on Phase I ESA, CSER, and Phase II/Level 2 ESA work with an emphasis on roadway studies for FDOT, CFX and FTE, and will interact with clients, read project plans, and contribute to scopes, fees, and proposals.

Responsibilities include project management, mentoring junior scientists, and reviewing work performed by others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher with a focus in Geology and Environmental Sciences.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Office work including data research and interpretation, report and proposal preparation, and report review.

The Ideal Candidate Would Have The Following Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher with a focus in Geology and Environmental Sciences.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Perform office work including data research and interpretation, including report and proposal preparation, and report review
• Capable of directing environmental groundwater and soil sampling assignments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work within project constraints and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities
