Job summary

Takeda in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Senior Scientist in the Synthetic Molecule Process Development group. You will lead early-stage process chemistry development for synthetic small molecules, coordinating with discovery, DMPK, and external partners to ensure scalable, phase-appropriate manufacturing processes.

You will apply flow chemistry, PAT, automation, and AI-driven methods to accelerate development, support IND/RTQ filings, and contribute to CMC strategy across global teams.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in organic chemistry with 3+ years of industry experience in process chemistry.
• MS in organic chemistry with 9+ years in process chemistry if no PhD.
• Experience with DS process development and early-stage assets.

Responsibilities

• Represent SMPD in cross-functional meetings and on CMC teams.
• Lead SMPD efforts with internal programs and CDMOs.
• Develop phase-appropriate, scalable synthetic processes for DS.
• Prepare regulatory documents for IND and RTQs.
• Drive project milestones and risk mitigation across functions.
