Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Scientist to join the Discovery Immunology group in La Jolla, CA. The role focuses on advancing therapeutics for autoimmune diseases through target validation and program progression in a lab-based setting.

You will design and execute complex immunology studies, mentor colleagues, and collaborate across functions to influence program decisions and drive publication-ready results.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Immunology or a related field with 1-3 years of additional relevant laboratory experience.
  • Strong foundation in immunology, including an understanding of the cells, cytokines, and signaling pathways that drive autoimmune disease.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in primary cell isolation and cell culture, in vitro cell-based models of inflammation, in vivo models of autoimmune disease, and spectral flow cytometry.
  • Ability to leverage multi-omic approaches such as single cell RNASeq and spatial transcriptomics to explore novel biology and the MoA of therapeutic candidates.
  • Strong scientific judgment, excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed environment.

We are searching for the best talent for a Senior Scientist to join the Discovery Immunology group to help advance innovative therapeutics for autoimmune diseases in La Jolla, CA. This lab-based role offers the opportunity to shape discovery strategy and influence program decisions from target validation through drug candidate progression.
