Job summary

Amgen Inc. is seeking a Scientist in Cytometry & Imaging Sciences to calibrate and operate multiparameter flow cytometers and imaging systems, and to guide others in the use of these facilities. You will troubleshoot instruments, develop complex fluorophore panels, and oversee remediation with field engineers as needed.

The role emphasizes training, project ownership, and maintaining biosafety protocols in a BS2+ lab, with opportunities to learn new skills and share knowledge across teams.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or MD/PharmD with Cytometry experience, or Master’s with Cytometry experience, or Bachelor’s with Cytometry experience.
• Experience in biopharmaceutical settings or academic projects with sponsors preferred.
• Ability to leverage AI/ML analytical platforms and work with data scientists.
• Knowledge of integrating flow and imaging cytometry with single-cell technologies (RNA seq, CRISPR screens, etc).

Responsibilities

• Calibrate and operate multiparameter flow cytometers and imaging platforms.
• Troubleshoot instrument issues and oversee remediation.
• Compile high-complexity fluorophore panels for legacy & full spectrum cytometers.
• Train others and ensure safe, productive lab operations in a BSL-2+ environment.
