Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a Principal Scientist in Translational Oncology Biomarkers. The role focuses on developing and executing computational strategies for multimodal omics and clinical data to inform biomarker programs and patient stratification in oncology.

You will lead cross-functional teams, apply AI-enabled analysis, and drive rigorous validation across labs and trials, with locations in Cambridge, MA and Spring House PA.

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Genomics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• At least 3 years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience.
• Advanced proficiency in R; experience in Python, Linux/Unix, shell scripting, version control, and reproducible analysis of high‑throughput sequencing and multimodal omics data.
• Demonstrated scientific leadership in computational oncology and biomarker applications in drug development.
• Deep knowledge of IND and NME development and Phase 1–3 oncology trials; ability to influence cross‑functional programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead analyses of multimodal oncology biomarker data (DNA/RNA sequencing, proteomics, flow cytometry, single-cell, spatial transcriptomics).
• Define and develop statistical and machine-learning plans for biomarker and clinical-outcome analyses.
• Drive integration of molecular, pathological, assay, sample, and clinical data to define biomarker utility and limitations.
• Support computational evidence generation for biomarker plans and patient-selection strategies.
• Promote responsible use of AI-enabled methods with rigorous validation, traceability, and data privacy.
