Job summary

Tempus AI seeks a Senior Scientist in Chicago to lead computational biology efforts across pharma collaborations and AI-enabled research. You will integrate multi-omics and clinical data to generate actionable insights for drug discovery and development.

The role emphasizes building scalable tools, mentoring teams, and communicating complex results to technical and non-technical stakeholders while advancing precision medicine initiatives at Tempus.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computational Biology, Biostatistics, ML or related field, or a Masters with extensive industry/post-doc experience.
• Proven track record in peer-reviewed publications and scientific leadership.
• Experience with AI tools and building research pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead pharma collaborations, translate partner needs into analytical plans leveraging Tempus multimodal platform.
• Run computational analyses across genomic, transcriptomic, imaging, and clinical data.
• Develop AI/LLM-enabled workflows and prototype agentic approaches for insights.
• Contribute to reusable code, methods, and best practices across programs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and mentor junior scientists.
