Job summary

Just-Evotec Biologics in Redmond, WA seeks a motivated senior scientist to lead cell-based assay development for biotherapeutics across early and late phase programs. You will guide method development, validation, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced analytical development group.

The role requires hands-on experience with diverse cell assay formats, mentoring direct reports, and authoring regulatory documentation.

Qualifications

PhD with 3+ years industry experience, MS with 5+ years, or BS with 10+ years in Biochemistry, Molecular & Cellular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemistry or related field.
Understanding of ICH/USP guidelines on analytical and potency assay development and validation.
Experience in development and phase-appropriate validation of potency and methods.
Experience managing and mentoring direct reports.
Strong oral and written communication; ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

Serve as SME in development of cell-based assays for early and late phase biologics programs.
Lead a team to implement method development and validation activities.
Supervise and develop careers of direct reports; mentor junior staff.
Transfer methods to Just-Evotec's Quality Control laboratory.
Technical document authoring for regulatory filings and internal reviews.
Participate in process development teams; may serve as potency lead.
Execute comparability and biosimilarity assessments.
Develop technologies to improve throughput and onboard new tech.
Contribute to documents supporting IND, INDA, BLA, IMPD filings.
Present data to internal teams, clients, and conferences.
