Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks a lead scientist to design and optimize affinity chromatography technologies for diverse biopharmaceutical modalities, aiming to advance bioprocessing performance and partner success.

You will conduct high-throughput experiments, apply DOE, analyze complex datasets, and collaborate with chemistry, analytics, and commercial teams to drive multiple programs with quality and timeliness.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years' experience in downstream processing, protein purification, and chromatography (including FPLC).
• Expertise across modalities such as proteins, enzymes, vaccines, VLPs, or gene therapy vectors.
• Strong skills in chromatography method development, automated/high-throughput systems, and DOE.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of affinity chromatography for diverse biopharma modalities.
• Conduct high-throughput experimentation and apply DOE for process development.
• Analyze complex datasets to inform decision-making.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with chemistry, analytics, and commercial teams.
• Contribute to multiple development programs ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Propose innovative purification approaches and engage with external partners as expert.
