Job summary

Trinity Consultants is seeking a Senior Scientist for our Northwest team, based in Gig Harbor or Mount Vernon. You will lead biological surveys, analyze data, and manage regulatory permitting and compliance efforts for projects across the Pacific Northwest.

The role requires strong scientific writing, field leadership, and expert knowledge of ESA/NEPA/CWA regulations. Collaboration with clients and agencies is a key aspect of the position, with opportunities for growth and cross-disciplinary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a biological field required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in biological resource surveys, inventories and analyses preferred.
• Strong technical writing and regulatory experience.
• Pacific Northwest field experience desirable.
• Knowledge of ESA, NEPA and CWA regulations.
• Ability to lead, manage, and mentor field staff.
• Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews and prepare technical deliverables.
• Perform field surveys and maintain defensible records of observations.
• Lead and train field crews in survey protocols and safety procedures.
• Manage biological datasets and conduct advanced analyses.
• Prepare biological permitting and compliance documents.
• Communicate regulatory and technical developments to project teams.
• Support staff training and business development initiatives.
• Build relationships with regulatory agencies, tribal representatives, clients, and stakeholders.
• Communicate findings to clients and agencies; provide technical support.
