Job summary

FUJIFILM Biosciences in Irvine, CA seeks a Senior Scientist I in Analytical Development & Solutions to independently develop advanced analytical methods and lead complex R&D projects involving mass spectrometry, proteomics, and bioprocessing. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science/engineering with >10 years experience or MS with >8 years or PhD with >2 years.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience, with emphasis in Bioprocessing, Chemistry and Biochemistry.
• Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics expertise for high-resolution MS applications.
• Biologics characterization including monoclonal antibody analysis and spent media evaluation.
• Analytical & Solid-State instrumentation across HPLC/UPLC, ICP-MS, UV-Vis, FT-IR/Raman, XRF, SEM.
• Data software and automation: Protein Metrics, Python, R; automation platforms.
• Working knowledge of Bioprocessing, Chemistry and Biochemistry; cell culture preferred.
• Excellent English communication; strong writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics expertise for peptide mapping, PTMs, and small molecule characterization.
• Biologics characterization including antibody analysis and spent media evaluation.
• Operate standard analytical instruments and solid-state techniques; troubleshoot when needed.
• Use MS data software, bioinformatics, and statistical programming for data analysis.
• Lead projects from conception to completion with budgets and timelines, mentoring team.
• Perform advanced data analysis and generate summary reports and presentations.
• Interpret literature to drive experimental design and new concepts.
• Develop novel methods and testing workflows; troubleshoot equipment independently.
