Job summary

Meet Life Sciences in Hopkinton, MA, seeks a Scientist / Senior Scientist to join our analytical development team. You will develop and execute analytical methods for particulate-based drug delivery systems (microspheres, nanoparticles, LNPs) and assess particle size, API content, and encapsulation.

This hands-on role emphasizes method development, validation, transfer, data interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration, with mentoring of junior scientists and documentation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field with 10+ years of experience; or Master’s with 7+ years; or PhD with 2–5+ years.
• Strong hands-on experience in analytical method development within pharmaceutical/biotech/drug delivery environments.
• Experience with complex analytical testing and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and execute analytical methods for early-stage drug development and product characterization.
• Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing of particulate-based drug delivery systems (microspheres, nanoparticles, LNPs).
• Lead or contribute to method development, validation, qualification, and transfer activities.
• Characterize products using analytical techniques (HPLC/UPLC, CE, UV/Vis, fluorescence, microplate assays).
• Design and execute in vitro release and stability studies.
• Prepare, review, and approve technical documentation (methods, SOPs, protocols, reports).
• Mentor and train junior scientists; engage with clients to understand objectives and deliver results.
