Position Summary

The Individual will lead efforts to support a new program assessing the molecular epidemiology of bacterial pathogens at UNMC and Nebraska Medicine. This will include pathogen collection via coordination with the clinical microbiology laboratory at Nebraska Medicine, collaboration with scientists at the Nebraska Public Health Laboratory and faculty within the Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology, and eventual interpretation of data and communication with Healthcare Epidemiology at Nebraska Medicine. Further duties includes providing support for bacteriological and viral diagnostic test development for the Emerging Pathogens Laboratory at UNMC and ongoing studies with faculty in the Division of Infectious Diseases.

  • Experience in grant application process.
