Job summary

The Quantitative Biosciences Institute (QBI) at UCSF is seeking a Scientific Project Manager to oversee collaborative biomedical research programs across multiple investigators and partners. You will coordinate planning, execution, and ongoing management of multi-PI initiatives.

Reporting to QBI leadership, you will manage timelines, budgets, meetings, and communications; develop program strategy, and support grant proposals, progress reporting, and scientific meetings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible project or program management experience, preferably in an academic, research, biomedical, or similarly complex environment.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders, workstreams, and deadlines.
• Ability to develop and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and priorities.
• Experience coordinating collaborative projects involving faculty, researchers, leadership, and external partners.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to completion.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills for reports, proposals, and presentations.
• Ability to build relationships across diverse teams and levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and develop solutions.
• Ability to analyze information from multiple sources and communicate key findings, risks, and recommendations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project-management tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, implementation, and ongoing management of multi-PI biomedical research programs and projects.
• Coordinate timelines, milestones, budgets, meetings, and communications to ensure alignment with goals.
• Support development of program strategy, major initiatives, and funding-related activities.
• Represent QBI programs in interactions with collaborators and external partners.
• Contribute to grant proposals, progress reporting, scientific meetings, and program documentation.
