Job summary

SiSTEM is seeking experienced science tutors to provide personalized, one-on-one support to students in grades K–12 in the Houston area. You will engage with motivated learners to build understanding and confidence in various science subjects.

Tutors set their own rates and maintain the entirety of what they earn, while being matched with students fitting their expertise based on needs and strengths. SiSTEM supports you with tools for managing your tutoring practice effectively.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of teaching or tutoring experience in science.
• Deep expertise in at least one of the listed science subjects.
• Proven track record of helping students improve their grades.

Responsibilities

• Provide focused science instruction for students in grades K–12.
• Help students develop deeper conceptual understanding of scientific concepts.
• Communicate with families about progress.

Skills

Teaching/Tutoring experience in science

Subject expertise in life science, earth science, chemistry, or physics

Strong communication skills
