Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork in Carbondale, CO seeks an experienced Business Administrator to serve as its senior financial and operational leader, reporting to the School Director in partnership with the Community Development Administrator.

Responsibilities include budgeting, financial operations, payroll, benefits, compliance, and supervising a remote bookkeeper to ensure strong internal controls and long-term sustainability of the school.

Qualifications

• Substantial nonprofit/educational leadership experience.
• Budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls expertise.
• Experience supervising remote bookkeeping or accounting professionals.
• Knowledge of employment practices, benefits, and compliance.
• Independent school or Waldorf experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate school priorities into sustainable budgets, staffing plans, and timelines.
• Oversee monthly financials, annual budget, and multi-year forecast.
• Direct remote accounting team and coordinate with CPA firm for tax filings.
• Maintain internal controls, general ledger, and audit processes.
• Oversee payroll, benefits, personnel records, vendor management, and risk.
