Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Accounting and considerable experience in performing analytical and technical accounting work that involved accounts maintenance and financial reporting responsibilities.
• Requires 5 years work experience.
• All applicants must attach a completed resume for review. References must include at least one Supervisor and one Colleague or two Supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Maintains set of accounts by checking and verifying transaction documents; correcting errors; researching and resolving discrepancies; posting entries; preparing vouchers and memos; and preparing statements showing status and activity of accounts.
• Prepares disbursement documents and payment checks and arranges for signing and delivery.
• Processes vendor invoices by checking and verifying information; takes discounts and checks extensions; verifies and corrects codes; contacts vendors to resolve discrepancies; prepares payment vouchers and checks.
• Inputs financial data into automated financial system daily and reconciles subsidiary ledger to general ledger monthly.
• Provides functional work direction over entry level accounting personnel by training, checking and reviewing their work.
• Revises manuals, guidelines, and instructions as needed.
• Performs general office clerical and secretarial duties; prepares letters and reports; maintains files including personnel records; schedules appointments.
• Assists external and internal auditors in the audit of the financial records of individual schools.
• Performs special projects as assigned by supervisor or administrator.
• Other duties as assigned.
