The Senior Scheduler leads the company’s efforts in developing, monitoring, and optimizing complex project schedules to ensure successful execution of wastewater treatment plant construction projects, including pump stations, lift stations, major rehabilitation, and new WWTP builds. This role provides strategic oversight, technical expertise, and mentorship to project teams, driving schedule integrity and alignment with organizational goals. Experience scheduling wastewater treatment plants is required or experience with civil/underground infrastructure (utilities, pipelines, deep excavation) is also acceptable.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Establish, maintain, and train project teams on company scheduling standards and best practices, with emphasis on wastewater and heavy civil project sequencing.
- Oversee the timely and accurate development and updating of project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with the unique constraints of WWTP construction (process equipment procurement, MEP integration, commissioning).
- Perform resource loading and analysis, integrating labor, equipment, subcontractor, and procurement data into schedules to support planning and tracking for complex water/wastewater systems.
- Conduct cost loading and analysis, ensuring financial alignment within schedules using Primavera P6.
- Lead the creation of bid proposal schedules that clearly define work sequences, contract timelines, and wastewater‑specific construction phases.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of baseline schedules, serving as the foundation for project execution across multiple wastewater treatment and civil/underground projects.
- Analyze the overall Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule, coordinating closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to align procurement, process equipment delivery, underground utility installation, and construction activities.
- Monitor schedule quality and integrity, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all project phases, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and process‑equipment installation.
- Monitor weekly and monthly schedule updates, providing critical path and near‑critical path insights to project teams, particularly around long‑lead equipment and complex sequencing typical of WWTP projects.
- Lead the fragmentation (fragnet) of schedules to address changes, delays, or resequencing needs, proposing actionable solutions that maintain project momentum.
- Serve as the primary technical advisor on scheduling issues, resolving complex problems and mitigating risks related to wastewater treatment plant construction and underground civil work.
- Guide project teams in developing short‑term schedules, recovery plans, and delay claim analyses, ensuring alignment with the master schedule and contract requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. or B.A. in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5–10+ years of scheduling experience in construction
- Expert‑level proficiency in Primavera P6, including advanced resource and cost‑loading techniques.
- Proven ability to manage complex schedules in a deadline‑driven, fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive project data.
- Certification (e.g., PMI‑SP, PSP) preferred but not required.
