Job summary

STR is seeking a Senior Scala Software Engineer to build scalable microservices and high‑performance APIs at the edge of mission‑critical systems. You will join a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, scientists, and data experts tackling AI-enabled decision support and secure platform development.

The role requires U.S. citizenship with an active DoD SECRET clearance and strong functional programming skills.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 3–5+ years (BS) or 1-2+ years (MS) of professional API/software development.
• U.S. Citizenship required with active DoD SECRET Clearance.
• Proficiency in Scala or typed functional languages with strong FP concepts.
• Ability to work independently with a trailblazer mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build & Scale: design and implement microservices and high-performance APIs within a DevSecOps ecosystem.
• Drive Deployment: own features from R&D into an active user community.
• Collaborate: work with scientists, engineers, and end users to translate requirements into production software.
