Job summary
Arizona Public Service Company is looking for a Controls Engineer II/III/Senior to enhance its renewable energy projects, including solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role focuses on optimizing control systems that ensure compliance and reliability for plant operations.
Ideal candidates should have strong hands-on experience in power plant automation and SCADA systems, and will engage in vital collaboration with engineering and operations teams. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is a must, with additional experience preferred.
This position offers a hybrid working model requiring residency in Arizona.
Qualifications
- Experience with utility-scale solar and/or BESS control systems.
- Hands-on experience with SEL RTACs.
- Knowledge of inverter controls and grid interconnection requirements.
- Two to eight years working experience in engineering-related positions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement control systems for renewable and conventional generation assets.
- Support plant performance, grid compliance, and system reliability.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams on automation and performance.
- Oversee engineering technical programs for project management.
